The FY 2025 SNAP Process and Technology Improvement Grant (PTIG) supports projects that enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Eligible applicants include state agencies, local governments, public and private health or welfare organizations, Indian Tribal Organizations (ITOs), public health or educational institutions, and private nonprofits.
Projects must align with at least one of three goals:
1. Modernize customer service and client communication to enhance efficiency, transparency, and accuracy in SNAP application and eligibility processes. 2. Improve SNAP’s administrative infrastructure and daily operations related to determining eligibility. 3. Invest in technology and systems that streamline coordination of application and eligibility determinations across SNAP and other federal, state, or local aid programs.
All applications must include clear performance goals tied to the chosen objective(s) using a standardized tracker. If funded, recipients will be required to report progress through the FNS-908 Performance Progress Report.
Specific documentation is required based on applicant type. Nonprofits must submit proof of IRS nonprofit status and a board of directors list. ITOs must apply in partnership with a state SNAP agency, accompanied by a letter of endorsement or commitment. State and local governments must confirm all necessary funding approvals before applying.
